The Histories of Northamptonshire interactive timeline brings together objects, stories, and events that reflect the county’s rich and diverse heritage. From ancient fossils to modern moments, it celebrates the people, places, and discoveries that have shaped life in Northamptonshire over millions of years.
Created by Northampton Museums & Art Gallery with support from Arts Council England, the timeline draws on museum collections, community contributions, and the exhibition A History of Northamptonshire in 100 Objects. A living timeline it continues to grow with input from local museums, heritage organisations and the wider public – sharing and celebrating the history and heritage from across the county.
Beyond the 100: County-Wide Celebration invites residents and visitors to discover the rich history in their own backyard. From Burton Latimer to Brackley, heritage sites across Northamptonshire showcase local treasures through exhibitions in museums, libraries, and community venues. The event brings remarkable objects and stories to life, connecting displays across the county through an interactive app and website that trace the exhibition’s fascinating timeline.
