Give Our Auditorium a Second Act - Royal & Derngate

Over the years, millions of audience members have taken their seats in the Derngate auditorium, creating memories that have stayed with them long after the curtain fell.

It originally opened in 1983 as a state-of-the-art multi-purpose venue, which can be configured to stage a variety of events including musicals, comedy, classical concerts, comedy, dance and ‘in the round’ events such as snooker, boxing and gala dinners, and regularly welcomes some the biggest names and shows on the circuit.

In order to create a more comfortable, welcoming and inclusive experience for many years to come we will be renewing the seating, flooring and audio enhancement system in the auditorium.

Thanks to a significant grant from Arts Council England’s Cultural Development Fund of £538,000, we’re well on the way to this transformation.

However, we still need to raise additional funds in order to reach our goal. Our fundraising project aims to raise the final £100,000 and complete the transformation.

Please consider donating today to help secure the future of this much-loved venue.

Thank you for your support.
