Concession prices are available for individual shows where stated and may be offered to under 16s, over 60s, Students, Jobseekers and Access Patrons. Discounts vary on each production and on individual performances.

Access Patrons who require assistance when visiting the theatre can also request a free ticket for their companion/carer. Click here for more information about ways to make your visit simpler.

Only one concession applies per ticket. Concessionary price tickets must be requested at the time of purchase as discounts cannot be applied retrospectively. Proof of status will be required on the first purchase of a concessionary ticket and can be checked on any subsequent ticket purchase.

For information on infant tickets and recommended ages, please see the individual show pages.

A non-refundable transaction charge of £4 applies to all bookings over £20, except for our members, Access Patrons and Group Bookers. This charge is only applicable per-booking and not per-ticket.

The transaction charge exists to support the running costs of Royal & Derngate. As ticket revenue is divided between many different parties, an increase in ticket prices may not necessarily benefit the theatre. By adding a transaction charge, we ensure that every penny goes directly to Royal & Derngate.

We will continue to charge a ‘per booking’ charge, not ‘per ticket’, which makes our charges lower than many other theatres. We will continue to tell you about these charges, whether you are booking online, over the phone or at the counter.

A family ticket is a discounted ticket for a family of four (max. 2 adults). Family tickets can only be bought on selected shows and the prices for these vary from show to show. When buying a family ticket online first select your seats and then choose ‘family of 4’ for all four tickets when asked to select your ticket type.
You can select which seats you would like in the auditorium by simply choosing the performance you want to see, along with the area that you would like to sit in. Click on your preferred available seats on the auditorium map and proceed to the checkout. If you need to change your selection, click on the highlighted seats again to deselect. Alternatively, you can select ‘Best Available’ as your area choice and the website will allocate you the best tickets available at that time.

For performances in our Underground spaces, there is no option to select your own seats, so please select ‘Best Available’.

You will receive a confirmation email as soon as your booking is complete.

Currently we are unable to process wheelchair user and wheelchair transfer bookings online. Please contact the Box Office Team directly.

There are dedicated seats help off sale that can be booked by wheelchair users by contacting our Box Office Team. This ensures that suitable seating is allocated, and you have a comfortable experience at our venue. Any wheelchair suer or transfer customers that make a booking online in standard seating may be contracted to relocate or refused entry into the auditorium due to safety reasons.

If you have a promotional code, please enter it in the box provided at the start of the booking process and click the ‘Add Code’ button. Once you see the message ‘Promotion Code has been applied’, proceed with your booking as normal and the prices will be updated accordingly.

Please note: If you are shopping online using a promotional code, you will only be able to book tickets for that particular show. If you wish to book for anything else at the same time, please complete the promotional transaction first and then start the booking process again.

To book online using Royal & Derngate gift vouchers, enter the voucher code in the relevant box when completing the payment stage of the booking process. We are unable to redeem National Theatre Tokens online at present, but are happy to accept them for transactions made in person at the Box Office or by calling 01604 624811.

During the busy Christmas period please allow up to 14 working days for Gift Vouchers to arrive via post or collect from our Box Office.
